Volunteers and staff from the Institute for Cultural Practices at Manchester University , Manchester Art Gallery and the People's History Museum work to clean up and salvage tributes left at a memorial that grew up around a mural to England footballer Marcus Rashford , after storms and heavy rain hit the region overnight . The mural , painted by local artist " Akse P19 " on the side of a cafe in Withington , was defaced after England's loss to Italy on penalties in the final of the European Cup , prompting support for England's black players and anger towards the racism that had been shown towards those black players , following the match .
